Seramas
Seramas are the world's smallest chickens, ranging in size from only 8oz-16oz for hens and 10oz-19oz for roosters. They were developed in Malaysia by crossing multiple breeds of bantam chickens. Not only are they well known for their tiny size but also for their upright posture, standing like tiny soldiers. They are a proud and friendly breed, often craving human attention. Due to their small size, they are very easy to care for and need very little space to live. Because of this, many people choose to keep them as indoor pets though they are quite happy living outside (though supplemental heat may be required in cold climates). They also eat very little, averaging around 1 pound of food each month per bird. Seramas lay very small egg, taking about 5 to equal 1 large egg but these tiny eggs are excellent for bite sized pickled eggs!
